Potters’ Guild Winter Pottery Market 2026

 Invitation to Members

November 20th – December 20th

Las Cruces Potters’ Guild cordially invites its members to participate in the Winter Pottery Market at Gallery 925.  The aim is to offer a wide variety of holiday art for gift-giving and decoration. Your art will be nicely displayed, with related items grouped together, accompanied by a tree with ornaments and a festive atmosphere. Artists will not be required to offer a large display; rather a nice presentation of quality art for the holidays.

The Winter Pottery Market will evolve and change as your items sell over the month. While a wide-variety of price points are welcomed, the minimum price should be ten dollars.  The Guild is looking to have no more than 20 artists participate in the Winter Market. If you decide to display your art, be prepared to work one or more shifts at Gallery 925 on Mesquite Street in Las Cruces. Working in the gallery has increased sales, so it is to your benefit to be present. The Winter Pottery Market entry fee is $30.

The Gallery 925 owner, Diane Alire will handle the sales and bookkeeping on your behalf. The Gallery will be open Fridays from 11-5, Saturdays 11-5, and Sundays 11-5, or by special request. For the Grand opening and First Friday opening, the Gallery will be open from 1-7.

An Outdoor Market special event is planned on November 21st for Guild members to offer additional quality items for sale (no seconds). This special event allows the artist to sell without gallery commission, but you will be selling your art using your own point of sale system. Your outdoor space will be a table. Although you keep all the proceeds from the Outdoor Market, your entry fee will be $25. Space is limited. The Guild encourages first-time sellers to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity. Previous Outdoor Markets featured ornaments as an example of the art offered.

IF YOU WERE IN THE MARKET LAST YEAR AND YOU WANT TO RESERVE YOUR SPACE, PLEASE REGISTER BY SEPTEMBER 15th.

Registration then opens to other Guild members starting September 16th. Registration for the Winter Pottery Market will close when the Guild Chairs determine the size of the work offered and display needs inside Gallery 925.

Welcome to the Potters’ Guild of
Las Cruces, New Mexico!

Our History

Formed in 1981 by a small group of artists, the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces has endured and thrived for more than 40  years. In the early 1980s, there was no support for people in the business of selling pottery so a core group of extremely motivated, creative, and talented people set about building a ceramics community, literally from the ground up. Many members have remained active for ten years or longer and continue to be proud supporters of the group.

The caring spirits of many people who began and nourished the guild for over three decades have left an impression. To this day, the Guild continues to bring clay into the public view as a medium of artistic expression.

Our Goals

As a group we have developed and set a certain amount of specific goals that continue to be priorities from our early days as an organization.

They include the following:

  • Providing a forum for learning and discussion
  • Fostering the education of the arts
  • Sponsoring exhibitions and sales of the groups work
  • Organizing workshops about clay issues
  • Promoting community service

These goals and principles have set the course for our activities, workshops, meetings and membership.

Potters  of all levels

The Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces has many experienced clay artists that hold positions in the organization, but we also welcome complete beginners, novice potters, and pottery artists with moderate experience. We believe that cultivating a welcoming environment that is instructional, supportive, and inclusive is the best way to operate.

If you are interested in pottery, feel free to reach out to our group and become a member. You’ll be glad you did—and we’ll be glad to have you! Contact us to learn more about joining.
