A juried Las Cruces NM show


From the Ground Up is a regional, juried ceramics exhibition that is open to artists from the Rocky Mountain region of the United States, including New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Montana and the state of Chihuahua MX. This event brings an opportunity for clay artists to display and share their high-quality work right here in Las Cruces, NM. It is advertised nationally and considered a first-class, contemporary clay event. Awards are given.

Meet the 2021 judge Joshua R. Clark!


Joshua R. Clark is a ceramic artist born in 1989 in Columbus, Ohio. He received his M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2015. He has exhibited nationally and internationally with notable exhibitions at the Yingge Ceramic Art museum in Taiwan, The Museum of Ceramics in Fiorano Italy, Museum of International Design and Ceramics in Laveno Mombello Italy, and the Arizona State Museum of Art in Tempe Arizona, among others. Clark received the Gold Prize in the 2016 Taiwan Ceramic Biennale. He is an Assistant Professor at New Mexico State University.

30th Annual Juried Exhibition


Show was at the Las Cruces Museum of Art until October 9, 2021.





Awards for the 2021 show were $3,000 and included a generous donation from the Serafino Trust Fund. The Potters' Guild of Las Cruces thanks the Serafino family for sponsoring the Second Place Award in the 2021 From the Ground Up juried show.


The Potters' Guild is a not for profit organization and is a registered 501(c)3 organization.
