 Healing Wings

A Creative Remembrance to all that has been lost to Covid-19.

The Healing Wings Project is a community art installation generated by a group of artists and potters who recognize the need for our community to heal from the impact Covid in a supportive and respectful environment. Located in a peaceful courtyard adjacent to Agave Artists' Gallery in Mesilla, NM, two permanent iron sculptures, one emulating a tree and one holding memory boxes were designed and created by a local welder and artist.. Participants created ceramic wings to hang on the tree and placed personal messages in the memory boxes.

Empty Bowls

Since 1992, the Potters' Guild has partnered with El Caldito Soup Kitchen and St. Paul's United Methodist Church to address hunger in Las Cruces. Potters of all levels come together to hand craft bowls and to volunteer for the fundraiser held in October of each year. The Las Cruces Empty Bowls is the longest running fundraiser in New Mexico and voted the Best Fundraiser in Las Cruces each year!

Sadly, hunger remains in Las Cruces and the need for Empty Bowls has not lessened. El Caldito Soup Kitchen relies on the Empty Bowls funds to help offer thousands of meals each year.

Contribute so that the Guild may purchase clay and other materials for the event. Funds are donated directly to El Caldito. Thank you for helping to feed the hungry!
